How TaxTech NG uses and protects your BVN/TIN
Your BVN and TIN are sensitive identifiers. TaxTech NG uses industry-leading security to protect them.
Overview
TaxTech NG never stores your raw BVN. All identification data is encrypted, masked, and hashed to ensure maximum security.
BVN Masking & Hashing
When you provide your BVN, TaxTech NG immediately:
- Masks the BVN display (showing only the last 4 digits)
- Hashes the BVN using one-way cryptographic algorithms
- Validates your identity with the BVN database (placeholder for now)
- Discards the raw BVN—only the hashed version is stored
Temporary TINs
If you don't have a TIN or BVN, TaxTech NG can assign a Temporary TIN for formal filing or an Informal Filer Temporary ID for presumptive tax filing. These IDs are valid only for the current filing window and are not stored long-term.
Data Security Measures
All identification data is encrypted using AES-256 encryption, hosted on AWS servers in Africa, and protected by strict access controls. TaxTech NG is NDPR-compliant and undergoes regular security audits.
Important Notes
TaxTech NG staff will never ask you for your BVN or TIN outside the platform. If you receive suspicious requests, contact support@taxtechng.com immediately.
