Troubleshooting

My online payment failed or was declined

If your online payment via Paystack or Flutterwave failed, follow these steps to resolve the issue.

Overview

Payment failures can occur due to insufficient funds, incorrect card details, bank restrictions, or network issues. Most can be resolved quickly.

Common Causes of Payment Failure

Check for these common issues:

  • Insufficient funds in your account or card limit reached
  • Incorrect card details (number, expiry date, CVV)
  • Your bank blocked the transaction (contact your bank to authorize)
  • Network timeout or poor internet connection
  • Card not enabled for online transactions

What to Do If Payment Fails

Follow these steps:

  • Return to your TaxTech NG dashboard
  • Your filing should still be saved with status 'Pending Payment'
  • Click 'Retry Payment' or 'Resume Filing'
  • Double-check your card details before retrying
  • Consider using a different card or payment method (bank transfer, USSD)
  • If all online methods fail, switch to offline cash payment via partner agents

Duplicate Payments

If you were charged but didn't receive a confirmation, wait 30 minutes for payment processing. Check your email for a Paystack/Flutterwave receipt. If you're still unsure, contact support@taxtechng.com with your transaction reference.

Important Notes

Never retry the same failing card more than 3 times—your bank may temporarily block further attempts. Contact your bank or switch to a different payment method instead.
